Renogy's DC to DC MPPT On-Board Battery Charger offers a comprehensive solution for multi-input, multi-stage battery charging. Engineered to provide flexibility, it allows users to charge a service battery either from an alternator-linked starting battery or directly from solar panels. This unit ensures that your service battery is the primary charging focus, allowing for prolonged off-grid utility. Designed to accommodate a wide range of battery types—Flooded, Gel, AGM, or Lithium—the charger also features an RJ45 communication port for enhanced monitoring and control capabilities via the BT-2 Bluetooth Module (not included) and Renogy DC Home App.
Efficiency and Dual Charging Options
The unit's unique dual charging mechanism allows for charging the service battery from both an alternator-connected starting battery and solar panels simultaneously. This not only minimizes charging time but also achieves up to 99% MPPT tracking efficiency and 94% conversion efficiency.
Structural Design and Safety Measures
Removable side covers are incorporated to prevent electrostatic damage by isolating product terminals from human contact during transport and use. An all-in-one NEG-terminal with a partition design simplifies installation by integrating the terminals for the solar panels, starter battery, and service battery.
Circuit Design and Security Protocols
The Soft Start Circuit Design ensures a gradual rise in input voltage, mitigating the risk of instantaneous overvoltage that could damage the charger or result in the over-discharge of the starter battery. The unit is certified to CE, FCC, and PoHs standards and incorporates multiple intelligent security measures, including battery isolation and over-voltage, temperature, and current protection mechanisms, ensuring the safety of your batteries and overall charging process.
