Cool top cover
Easy to install, adds more counter space when I’m not using stove, keeps from dust and dirt getting in the stove top. All around good buy and good price. I recommend this product. I was told the glass top looks better but has shattered for some people as they are driving down bumpy roads. Better off buying the a product that won’t break so easy.

Meet my expectations
Easy to install, less fragile than the glass. The grab hole to open is small, so big finger will find it tricky. The side panel can be useful as they move all around but they have tendency to fall down when closed and block the closure of the panel… I prefer the glass one to be honest but it exploded on the road so for this reason metal was my choice and it will stay .

Perfect fit
I had no trouble installing and figuring out the operation of the top. The side wings slide up and down as required to either block the wind or fold back down.

Exactly what we needed.
After trying to cook in high winds, we decided to order the metal cover/wind screen. The reviews were a little concerning, but we went for it. Installation was relatively easy and we have cooked since it was installed. Overall we are very happy with the purchase.

Dometic 50236
This was a simple install and required that I lift my cook top to install nuts... tookk only around 10 minutes. I thought the price was a little high for what the product is.

Incorrect assembly
One of the hinges was installed upside-down. Would have returned it but it would have too much trouble. So I just cut the rivets , and installed it the right side up.

Great replacement for the glass top
Shipping was very fast even during the COVID scenario, the unit fit my LD21 cooktop perfectly. The glass top would sometimes fall from the wind and this fit my needs nicely. Thanks Panther for the great service!

Dometic metal drop-in cooktop cover
This thing is ok - its pretty fidgety. The bolt holes in the compatible cooktop are punched through, so there is a small flange. The problem this creates is that the little nuts with grip-tite washers wont touch the stove body, they just sit on the punch-through flange. It will probably rattle like hell while on the move and I am wondering if I will regularly need to hunt for those little nuts. Probably should use some loc-tite on them. You have to be particular about opening and closing it. It has ovular hinges, so you need to pull it towards you and then lift. The little clip that holds the side panels together while closed is useless. When you get it open, you have to wrestle with the side panels to get them to slip down on the hinges so they interface with the cooktop. Once it is open, it seems to be pretty effective. The side panels are very hard to get to slide back up the hinges so you can close them. You almost need three hands so you don't bend the whole thing. Then you need to lift the whole thing straight up on the ovular hinge - dont just close it, you will probably damage the hinge.
