Maxxair 00A01150K OEM RV Roof Vent Handheld Remote Control

My fan for this remote is in a place that is hard to get to and verification of it working is difficult to obtain. It is extremely important to me that the fan is working as expected.
The Bad: This is an IR remote that must be pointed exactly at the receiver, a little off center and it will not work. What's even worse, it will tell you the requested action took place even if it did not. Example: Press the power switch to on and the remote shows the vent open and the fan on even if it is not. All operations on this remote are like this. If the operation of the fan is important, then you must visually verify that the requested operation has actually been carried out. Visual inspection makes the remote almost useless.
The Good: Panther RV Products shipped the remote quickly and communications were good. As far as the remote, the display is large enough and very clear. The styling of the remote is nice, fits well in your hand and the inside and outside temperature readings appear to be accurate.
Honestly, had I known about the remote problem before I bought the fan I would have looked for another brand.
