Note:Cooktops have a separate thermocouple for each burner. The thermocouple assemblies in a cooktop are typically of different lengths. Verify the length of your thermocouple assembly or the manufacturer part number before purchasing a replacement.

The thermocouple is used to monitor the temperature at the burner. As a safety feature, the gas flow is automatically shut off when a flame is not present.
