NBK 20291 (91602) Atwood RV Pilot Water Heater Gas Control Valve

The water heater gas control valve provides the propane gas to the main burner. The knob at the top of the valve allows the user to light the pilot flame, set the water temperature and shut off the water heater. This valve threads into the tank, immersing the temperature sensing probe into the tank of water. Internal to the temperature sensing probe is the high temperature energy cut-off (ECO). The ECO is a thermally controlled device that will open the circuit, interrupting the voltage being produced by the thermocouple when the water temperature exceeds a safe limit. When this circuit is broken, the flow of gas is shut off to the main burners.
