Unlike traditional tank-style water heaters, the Dometic WH-TL-60G heats water as it flows through the unit, eliminating the need for a hot water storage tank or recovery period. Its 60,000 BTU propane burner delivers up to 2.4 gallons per minute at a 45°F temperature rise, making it a practical choice for everyday RV hot water needs. The heater automatically coordinates water flow, propane supply, and electrical operation to help maintain a consistent outlet temperature.

The WH-TL-60G operates on LP gas with a 12V DC electrical connection to power the ignition, fan, and control system. Its automatic ignition eliminates the need to manually light the propane burner. Built-in safety features include flame failure protection, exhaust obstruction detection, low water pressure startup, and automatic shutdown under abnormal operating conditions. The heater also features automatic antifreeze protection to help reduce the risk of freezing when the system is properly configured.

When installing this water heater, additional components such as caulking, putty tape and mounting screws are necessary for proper installation and are not included with the water heater. A filter must be installed on the water pump outlet line to prevent debris from entering the water heater. Dometic states that failure to install this filter voids the product warranty. Installing an RV water heater requires an intermediate level of understanding and expertise in RV plumbing, electrical, and propane systems. It is recommended that only individuals with an understanding of these systems and the necessary tools attempt the installation.
