Dometic DMC4101 brings a fresh design to the RV kitchen. The thoughtfully designed stainless steel door sets a new standard with tight radius corners, rolled edges, and a recessed side pocket latching handle. Opening the refrigerator completes the experience with glass shelves, clear door bins, dual crisper drawers and overhead LED illumination. 10 Cu. Ft. storage capacity accommodates your food and beverage needs while living mobile. Easy to use digital controls provide flexibility between performance and power consumption. Dometic’s variable speed compressor technology is purpose-built for the RV industry with over-the-road durability and maximum efficiency.
Why go electric?
The electric only refrigerators are compressor operated instead of the traditional RV gas absorption operation. This allows for more efficiency during 12 volt use. Exterior ventilation is not required, like propane operated refrigerators. Gas absorption refrigerators must be level to operate, Compressor refrigerators are capable of functioning at angles of up to 30°.
Electric refrigerators are sensitive to power changes or insufficient power. It is important that the system can handle 15 amps of 12V DC power. A minimum of 10 gauge wire for installations up to 12 ft. is required. If the refrigerator is supplied with insufficient power, it will not operate, or show signs of difficulty operating.

    VERY HIGH QUALITY

    This fridge/freezer is a solid working unit. After messing around with other gas absorption refrigerators, I came to the conclusion that that technology is really just so-so, since so many things can go wrong. I'm living in my trailer full time with shore power so DC is not an issue, but even if I plan to go off grid, my solar panels will help keep batteries charged. This unit uses half the energy as the AC usage of the gas absorption. The quality and look/feel/performance is very good. The price of these is never cheap but at the same price as the other non-performers. I highly recommend this unit.

    I had been reading about the new style refrigerators that work like a home refrigerator but powered by 12volts. I have had many years of experience with the propane/120volt refrigerators and I have found that they really don't work that well especially in hot climates. Decided to go with the Dometic DMC 4101 12vDC frig and so far I am very happy with it. Hope to get a lot of years of service from it.

    Found mechanics of unit to be excellent. Keeps food cold and freezer at excellent temperature even on the hottest days. Works much better than my old Ammonia Fridge. Downsides: Interior shelf design not the best, door clasps are plastic and appear they could break after much wear. No screws for mounting the external hardware or securing fridge to RV. Panther did send me screws, but some were wrong size. Found proper size at hardware. Would recommend the fridge very highly for RV use.
