Dometic™ Atwood 93866 OEM RV Water Heater Thermal Cut Off

The Dometic™ OEM Thermal Cut Off is a safety component designed for use in Atwood direct ignition water heaters. The thermal cut-off is positioned on the incoming power wire and wired directly to the thermostat. It functions as a protective measure, designed to permanently sever the electrical circuit and disengage the water heater in cases of excessive heat. This serves to prevent potential damage arising from blockages in the main burner tube or flue tube, often caused by spider webs or wasps nest.

Direct Integration: The device is seamlessly integrated into the power circuit and wired to the thermostat
Protection: The device guards against malfunctions caused by obstructions from spiders and wasps

When obstructions lead to a flame burning outside the main burner tube, the thermal cut-off device activates. Specifically, if the flame or the heat emanating from the flame comes into contact with the thermal cut-off, the device opens the circuit, thereby shutting down the water heater. This functionality ensures that the equipment does not suffer from damage due to abnormal operational circumstances and reinforces the safety measures integral to the overall water heating system.
