This is a replacement ignition control board with fan control for select Dometic, Atwood, and Suburban furnaces. It performs all the functions necessary to turn the furnace on and keep it running. Powered with 12V DC, the board sends signals to open the gas valve and emits a high output voltage that creates an ignition spark to light the burner. The board also incorporates a 15-second ignition delay, designed to purge any unburned gas from the combustion chamber. This delay ensures a safer and more reliable ignition, eliminating the risks associated with gas buildup.
Fan Control
The integrated fan control function offers the advantage of precise coordination between the ignition process and fan operation, thereby enhancing both safety and efficiency. By managing the blower fan's activities in synchronization with the ignition cycle, the control board ensures that residual gases are purged before ignition, that warm air is effectively circulated post-ignition, and that furnace components are adequately cooled down after the heating cycle. This centralized control eliminates the need for separate fan management systems, streamlines operational sequences, and ultimately contributes to energy savings and improved furnace longevity.
Safe Startup
The board incorporates a 20-second ignition delay, designed to purge any unburned gas from the combustion chamber. This delay ensures a safer and more reliable ignition, eliminating the risks associated with gas buildup. Additionally, it features a lock-out that engages if either spark generation or gas valve opening fails to occur during the ignition cycle. This proactive safety feature halts further ignition attempts, providing an additional layer of security to prevent any hazardous situations such as gas leaks or explosions.
Safe Operation
By continuously monitoring the presence and quality of the flame in the combustion chamber, it plays a vital role in ensuring that the furnace operates under optimal and safe conditions. Its integration with the micro-amp sensing capabilities of the control board adds an additional layer of safety, making it a critical component in modern RV furnace control boards. As long as the board detects the minimum required micro-amps provided by the electrode, it avoids entering the lock-out mode, thereby ensuring uninterrupted heating while maintaining high safety standards.
Atwood and Suburban Control Boards:
31501 Kit with 33488, 37875, 36716, 232613, 232614,
520820 Kit with 232613
Note: Fan control boards should not be used in DuoTherm® 900 series furnaces that have the thermostat in the ground circuit. DuoTherm® furnaces can be rewired to move the thermostat from the ground side of the circuit to the positive side of the circuit so that the Fan control features of the Fan control or FAN 50 Plus Pins board can be used.
