What is an oversized package?
An oversized package is a box or crate that is too large to ship via standard ground (FedEx, UPS, US Mail, DHL, Ontrac). Due to this, it has to be shipped via Less than Truck Load (LTL) Freight.
How does this affect me?
This affects the customer in a number of ways. Typically LTL shipments are more expensive and those costs are carried over to the customer. However, due to the expensive nature of this service Panther RV Products attempts to cover some of the charges that exceed the quotes given to the customer. You will also be affected by delays and limitations. These include no expedited shipping, delayed handling time, and required preparation for the shipment. More details on these factors below.
Will my order ship out the same day?
If you're ordering an oversized package, your order could be delayed by a couple of days. At Panther RV Products we thoroughly inspect oversized products when they arrive at our facilities and when they are being prepared to ship from our location. Once inspected, our team crates, palatalizes and/or packages the shipment in the best possible way to ensure safety in transit. Due to this process, we are unable to expedite orders or offer an expedited service. If you are in urgent need of a large product, we highly recommend sourcing the product locally for your own benefit. Due to uncertainty with freight shipments, we do NOT guarantee delivery dates.
How do I ship overnight?
As stated above, we are unable to offer overnight, second day, or other expedited services due to the time required to prepare the shipment.
Once shipped, when will my product arrive?
Once your order is shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number for the carrier that is handling the shipment. Carriers typically don't guarantee delivery dates, however normally the estimated delivery date is fairly accurate.
How do I accept the delivery?
You are required to be prepared for the delivery in several ways. Your delivery location is required to be able to accommodate a semi-truck in order to receive the delivery. If you live up a gravel road, down a narrow street, or any other location that will stop the shipment from being delivered, please ship your order to a different location or source the product locally. The receiver will be held accountable for any additional fees if the shipment cannot be delivered due to lack of preparation.
 
If you are shipping to a residential address, an appointment delivery will be required to set up a time and day for you to sign for the receipt of the shipment. If you are shipping to a business, an appointment delivery is NOT required.
 
Note that oversized shipments are typically very large and heavy. The carrier is not required to unload the shipment from the semi-truck. It is your responsibility to unload the shipment with a forklift or by hand. In some cases the truck is equipped with a lift-gate which allows the carrier to lower the product to the ground from the semi-truck. The driver typically will place it in a close location (they are not obligated to bring the product into your house or garage). There are no guarantees that the semi-truck with your delivery will be equipped with a liftgate, requiring you to be prepared to unload the shipment.

Finally, someone will need to be available to sign for the shipment. The shipment will not be able to be delivered if it is not signed for.
What if the product is damaged?
Upon delivery, please thoroughly inspect the shipment for any damage. If you have suspicions of damage, please ask the driver to note it on the delivery receipt and open the package while the driver is there. This is a common practice and the driver should be accepting of it. If the product is damaged beyond use, please refuse the shipment and contact Panther RV Products for further instructions. If the product is minimally damaged and you are willing to accept it, please note it on the delivery receipt and sign for the package. Then call Panther RV Products for further instructions. If you sign for the product in good condition with no notations of damage, you will be accepting the product as-is.
Can I return an oversized product?
Yes, you can return an oversized product. However, due to the product shipping LTL it is a very expensive process. Due to this, we ask that you review and understand your order before completing it. If you decide to return the oversized product, you will be required to coordinate return shipping. Panther RV Products does charge a 15% restock fee for returns and it is expected that the product will be in new condition upon arrival at our our facilities. If the product arrives damaged at our location we will provide the customer all the necessary information to start a claim on the shipment. Panther RV Products will not be able to process a refund or credit until the claim is resolved.
