RV rooftop air conditioners work by cooling and circulating air inside the vehicle. The compressor pumps refrigerant through the system, and the motor drives the circulating fans. The fans play two crucial roles: one fan blows outdoor air over the condenser to release heat outside, while another fan circulates the cool air inside the RV. The system cools the air by moving it over a cold evaporator coil, then distributes this cooled air throughout the RV, making the interior comfortable.

The heat pump heats and cools from a single unit. Blower cycles switch over automatically in cooling and heating modes, for complete and consistent comfort. This way, you ever wake up cold in middle of the night. These units are also designed to ensure that any ice buildup on the heat exchanger is cleared by periodically cycling to Auto Defrost. With the reverse cycle defrost algorithm, the heat pump can continue to provide supplemental heating with outdoor temperatures as low as 25° F.
