Dometic™ RM8501RFBP RV Gas Absorption Refrigerator / Freezer - 3-Way - Black - 3.7 C/F

We recently purchased this Dometic Refrigerator to replace our warn out 14 year old RM 8501 that had a left hand hinge. This one has a right hand hinge that we were concerned about with respect to access in the limited space that our RV galley has. The replacement was done by professionals who quickly installed with no problem. We have now used the refrigerator for 4 months off and on for different trips. We like the newer electronic display that is easy to use. We have quickly adjusted to the right hand hinge. We find that it is much less a problem of having the hinge on the right side than we anticipated. Overall we are delighted with this Dometic RV refrigerator.

I was so happy to find a replacement from my Dometic Refrigerator. Panther safely packed and shipped it. Their customer service reps were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I will order from them again.

I bought this refrigerator for my pop-up camper. I could not figure out the directions to hook up the electrical so I contacted Dometic. They could not help me they were simply a bunch of bean counters who had no technical knowledge of their product. They referred me to the local RV dealer who sold their product. I went over and discussed this installation with their technicians at Myers in Bath New York. I hooked up the unit like their technician recommended and when I turned it on it shorted everything out melted the wires going to the printed circuit board and fried the entire printed circuit board. I contacted Dometic and I went back to Myers RV and was told it's not their problem. The result of the whole situation was that I threw a brand new refrigerator in the landfill because it was burnt up and would not function. I went and bought another brand of refrigerator to put in my camper. I would never recommend Dometic equipment for anything and their service is abysmal.

This unit was a direct replacement for the original Dometic 3-way fridge in my 2000 Leisure Travel Van. It fit perfectly into the original's place and hookups. It's much simpler to operate and adds a little more volume as well. I'm very pleased since I much prefer a 3-way fridge with it's capability to run on propane forever, it seems.

Easy install - works great - wish it had more capacity.

It was the exact model that we were replacing. Everything worked out well and the fridge is performing great
