The Victron Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V / 220A is an intelligent load-disconnect device designed to prevent deep battery discharge and protect batteries from damage. By automatically disconnecting non-essential loads when voltage drops too low, the Smart BatteryProtect ensures your battery bank maintains enough power for essential functions—such as engine starting or system-critical electronics. Fully programmable through Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app, this device offers custom engage/disengage thresholds, real-time monitoring, and flexible installation for RVs, vans, marine systems, off-grid power setups, and commercial vehicles.

• Smart Low-Voltage Protection: The Smart BatteryProtect prevents destructive deep discharge by automatically disconnecting loads before battery voltage reaches unsafe levels. This extends battery lifespan and helps ensure adequate reserve power for starting or critical systems.
• Bluetooth Programming & Monitoring: Using the VictronConnect app, users can set custom voltage thresholds, view real-time system values, and access instant diagnostics without requiring a paired connection. Bluetooth can be disabled if desired for security or simplicity.
• Nine Predefined Voltage Levels: For systems that don’t use Bluetooth, the Smart BatteryProtect can be programmed using the onboard PROG pin. Installers can choose from nine factory preset engage/disengage voltages for quick and easy setup.

The Smart BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device, allowing current to flow in only one direction—from the IN terminal to the OUT terminal. It can be installed to protect either a load or a charger, but not both at the same time. When used to protect a load, the battery is connected to the IN terminal, and when used to protect a charger, the charger is connected to the IN terminal instead. This design ensures predictable power flow and prevents unintended current movement through sensitive components.

In addition to low-voltage protection, the Smart BatteryProtect can also disable chargers that lack a remote on/off port, protecting the system from potential over-voltage damage. When paired with VictronConnect, users gain access to quick warning indicators, alarm notifications, and immediate fault visibility for fast diagnostics.
