The Victron Orion XS 12V/12V-50A DC-DC Charger is a compact, high-performance charger that delivers reliable, safe charging of a service battery from a vehicle’s starter battery or alternator. With a fully synchronous buck-boost design, built-in smart control, and a fan-less, rugged housing, the Orion XS provides stable and efficient charging in mobile and off-grid applications such as vans, RVs, boats, and overland rigs. Its combination of programmability, advanced protections, and wide input tolerance makes it particularly well suited for modern dual-battery systems — including those using lithium or lead-acid batteries.

• Advanced DC-DC Charging with Adaptive Control: The Orion XS supports adjustable charge voltages and a wide 9–17 V input range for compatibility with modern vehicles. Its programmable four-stage charging algorithm (Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage) automatically adapts based on battery type and discharge level. Users can fine-tune voltages, absorption time, and current limits through the VictronConnect app.
• Smart Alternator & Engine-Running Detection: Engine-shutdown detection ensures the charger only operates when the alternator is active, making it fully compatible with Euro-5/6 smart alternators and modern ECU-controlled charging systems.
• Fully Programmable with Bluetooth: All parameters—including charge current (1–50 A), voltage limits, low-temperature protection, and input lock-out—are configurable via the VictronConnect app. Firmware updates, real-time monitoring, and historical logs are available wirelessly.

The Orion XS includes over-temperature protection with automatic derating, reverse polarity protection, input undervoltage lock-out, and overload and short-circuit protection. Its passive cooling design eliminates fan noise and improves long-term reliability. The IP65-rated housing provides excellent resistance to dust and moisture.

Through Bluetooth or VE.Direct/VE.Smart Networking, the Orion XS can integrate with GX devices for local or remote monitoring through the Victron VRM portal. Remote on/off capability allows connection to ignition circuits, BMS signals, or manual switches.

The Orion XS delivers up to 50A of clean, stable charging and can recover deeply discharged batteries, even those reading near 0V, as long as the cells are not permanently damaged.
