NBK 20164 (91603) Atwood RV Water Heater Pilot and Thermocouple

The pilot assembly attaches to the water heater main burner tube and has a gas tube and thermocouple. The gas tube is the pilot light which ignites the gas from the main burner. The thermocouple is a device, when heated, generates electricity that is sent to the gas control. The gas control then allows gas to flow freely through the main burner.

The older Robertshaw pilot is no longer available and the Jade pilot must be substituted. When installing a Jade assembly in place of a Robertshaw assembly, if there is not a location on the right side of the main burner to mount the Jade pilot, a new burner that has the proper mounting holes will have to be purchased.
